Who am I? a Frenchman leaving in Brittany near the sea., with a passion for gardening but without using this basic knowledge until...Thanks to COVID and confinement🙏, I discovered Instagram and I met there virtually 😢 only the one who taught me more in 3 years than previous decades (thanks Mike, @Mike_thegardener, from my garden💐). The fiber "nature" was there since childhood having lived partly in the countryside, having spent all my youth vacations on a farm.
Then the vagaries of professional life took me away from the earth until retirement. Yes, the realization of my real garden only started in 2019 at the dawn of my 62 years (I let you count😅).
The previous gardens were subject to my vagaries of availability so often had to manage.
Today, always with imperfection but a lot of application, I try to give substance to my 550m2 garden. Instagram has allowed me to create many kindness connections, to find advice, to deepen my knowledge, to experiment, to build some solid friendships.
I'm going to make a confession to you. I talk to my plants, I take care of them, I move them and often I tell them that they have to grow well to be beautiful, otherwise 'Uncle Mike' or 'Aunt Ann-Marie,@myrealgarden (or many other) won't be happy🙈 I'm staying however amateur, little impregnated with botanical science but happy gardener👨🌾💚💚💚
Thank you so much my friend for your lovely introduction. Your garden is a credit to you. You clearly have, as we say in England, green fingers! It's been a pleasure getting to know you and I look forward to our friendship continuing in the many years ahead.
It's always a pleasure for me to hear your voice. It brings closeness and you're probably the only Englishman whose phrasing I understand. However, I appreciate more than anything the quality of your writings as a whole (the themes, the expression, the humor and more..) and as a foreigner (French) the writing offers an ease of proofreading, comprehension and translation.
I hope, I hope,🙏🙏🙏 that you will never offload the writing. I would feel deprived of a pleasure to read.
Bonjour mon ami. I haven't written for many years, having had work published here in the UK, but I am loving writing again. I will definitely be making time for more posts on here. As always, thanks for listening and reading!
What a great idea to have your newsletter as a podcast. As a confirmed multi tasker this means I’m able to enjoy your pearls of wisdom from the potting shed, garden or elsewhere. Wishing you good luck with it.
This is great to hear, Mike! An excellent idea indeed. I shall enjoy listening from the comfort of my hammock :)
Thanks Danielle. Now, that's something I'd love in my garden, a hammock!
As it was suggewted, l introduce myself

Sure my friend, our friendship will continue, our love of the garden is the cement👨🌾🫂🫶
Mike, what a great idea this new podcast is👍👏.

Loved listening rather than reading (although I would do either 😀)! Well done! 💚
Well thank you Ann. You now have a choice!! I aim to please. Thanks for listening. 😀
Congrats Mike! xxx
Thanks Mimi xx
I love to read your newsletters Mike but this is the best of both worlds now that we can listen too. Absolutely brilliant! Best of luck with it. ☘️
Thank you Anne, as a podcaster, it was an obvious thing to do, and yet it took others to tell me!!
A great idea Mike, I’ve recorded a couple of mine but couldn’t figure out how to do what you’ve done. You’re obviously much more tech savvy than me.
Thanks Julie. I'll show you one day how I do it. It's not too difficult. If I can do it, anyone can!

Thank you Sheila. Thanks for listening, as always.
Good morning Wendy! Thank you, you're my first listener today on this new podcast. All good here and hope the same with you too? XX
